2007
On a trip to Chobhar Hills, Mr. Hem Raj Dhakal shared one of his deepest wishes with his brother and his team. He wanted to craft an integrated tourist destination in Kathmandu, which would be a core holiday memory for millions of Nepali families.
2009
Inspired by his visit to the Genting Highlands of Malaysia, on 29th July 2009, Mr. Dhakal and his team registered a company named Kathmandu Fun Park Pvt. Ltd at the office of the company registrar.
2010
The company was registered with the Department of Industry, as an eco-tourism industry. Under the leadership of Mr. Dhakal, Kathmandu Fun Park Pvt. Ltd was envisioned to be a city outside of the city. In July of the same year, the project was recognised as a National priority project by the National Planning Commission.
2016
On 16th May, the project was rechristened to Chandragiri Hills Ltd. A soft opening ceremony followed on 8th August. This was soon followed by a gala inauguration ceremony on 15th December when the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ officially inaugurated Chandragiri Hills Ltd.
